Despite what spiritual gurus tell you, and the toxic positivity that has taken over social media, I’m here to tell you that you do not, in fact, have to have high vibes and exist in a state of positive thoughts, wishful thinking and the utmost amount of gratitude to manifest your desires, when in fact sometimes life just sucks and you don’t want to participate in the bullshit you feel yourself drowning in, because frankly you never asked to be here. Listen I get it, life is a journey and it’s going to get a little or a lot rocky sometimes, and I mean honestly we live in a society afraid to feel, especially the negative side of life, we cover up half the truth about our lives by posting the highlights on our social media pages. We buy cute clothes to cover up the not-so-cute reality, and brag, only about the things we think will make our friends jealous. So it’s no wonder we’re hard on ourselves when we’re not doing so well, but I’d like to tell you how this is actually working in your favour, how you are exactly where you are meant to be, and when you’re going through a hard time there is absolutely no need to feel bad no matter where you are.

Here’s Why

where you are is exactly where you’re meant to be and without the lows, how could we ever have gratitude for the highs? The lower you go, the less you have to lose, and the more you have to gain. Sometimes loss or lack of, is only everything you know doesn’t serve the life you truly desire. Maybe even losing everything is the perfect clean slate to recreate the life of your dreams. rock bottom is the universe giving you exactly what you want, you just can’t see it yet. I have had a recent epiphany in the mists of what felt like one of the worst seasons of my life, it felt like everything was leaving and it became apparent how desperate I was to avoid being alone. I sat with this for a moment, or rather many until I tried to imagine how this could be working in my favour. The truth that revealed itself to me was that I’m receiving exactly what I asked for, and I am experiencing the unravelling of this. I asked for a new life and to receive that the obvious price to pay is my old one. This season is simply one of purging what no longer serves me. Sometimes when we feel empty it’s a necessary void that occurs so it can soon be filled with an entirely new life, one you can intentionally create, one that serves you and doesn’t just look good, but feels good. Great success doesn’t come without great healing.

How it works

Let me let you in on a secret that’s been made a vastly complicated question when the answer is quite simple. What is the point of life? Well here it is, the point of life is to have a human experience, we all go through a series of lessons and trials intended for our soul’s development, for us to learn, grow, and evolve so we can earn wisdom and be shaped into the versions of ourselves that are living in soul aligned purpose. The point of human evolution is to continuously evolve through our lifetime, we can think of it like a video game, a new level new devil and this is in fact a positive sign of growth. Take heartbreak for a common yet simple example, Your first love is a necessary evil and oftentimes the thing we never fully heal from on our own and instead leave the task of moving on in the hands of time, or a rebound. let’s be honest we all know the deal, when you don’t heal, you don’t change and when you’re hurt you hurt people in an effort for yourself to hurt less. This has created a society of toxic modern dating because we’re in it to be loved not to love, and when you enter a relationship with a cup you need filled, you will both be left empty. A broken heart can never be a sustainable foundation for love. Back to my point… heartbreak is one of those lessons that can make or break us but really this theory applies to any obstacle, and really it’s up to you to write your story. How will this experience elevate or hurt your future? Will you will grow, remain the same, or will you become a creature of self-sabotage? I know it’s hard, especially when you can’t see how this is working in your favour, but that’s the point and I promise that growing pains are rewarded. Unfortunately, so many people experience a hardship that consumes them and they become trapped in the one experience, reliving the same version of themselves. The universe will keep teaching you the same lesson until you learn it, it can be through new experiences or new people but you will repeat the same patterns until you finally come to learn and embody the lesson, accept and let go. This is when you move on, this is when you evolve to your next level self. And then you will encounter a new experience and do it all over again only each time you will transform into a more powerful, wise, and capable version of yourself.

Makes, breaks, or worse never changing, will keep a person stuck at that vibration of life for the remainder of their human experience. This can look like settling when you reach your upper limit of how much success you think you can have, toxic relationships that all have a similar cycle, or even settling into a life that looks the same every day for 10 years. Life is too short to never move forward, to never let go of the past and live your dream life. The only thing that holds you back is you and your attachment to anything that’s not going to grow with you and therefore be left behind. How can you ever truly live your desired reality when your mind is always recapping what no longer exists in your reality. By reliving an experience in your mind, your body doesn’t know the difference and therefore continues to reflect the same outdated 3D reality. If you want to change things…

Acceptance and letting go

This might be the hardest of everything listed, this is a process that requires patience and gentleness from yourself. The first step is acceptance of whatever it is that has you entangled somewhere or in something that doesn’t serve you. Acceptance can even be accepting yourself as exactly who you are now. Acceptance is coming to the understanding that what has been done cannot be changed and the power of it only lives on within you, so long as you let it. You have the power to take the responsibility and respond. Instead of responding with resistance to what is, respond in a manner that will offer you peace and or let you walk away.
With acceptance comes letting go. Letting go is a concept that I used to find very difficult to understand, HOW do you let go? Letting go is when you’re no longer holding onto any recurrence of a situation in your life. Letting go can also mean no longer wishing for something to be in your life. Letting go can be letting yourself walk away from your past and letting yourself go walk a new path, or letting someone else go walk a new path. Truly it can mean so much to so many, but it’s not something that happens overnight, even if you’ve physically and literally let go, emotionally it takes time and often letting yourself walk a new path is the beginning of your empty space being filled with something new. Often your mind might even fight with you, but sometimes letting go is remaining loyal to your decision and trusting in the fact that there are better things meant for you. Even when you want to go back, it’s normal to desire again what you once deeply did. But when you keep going, even when it hurts too, even when you think you want to go back, but you don’t, that is how you will let go when you teach your subconscious mind that you can live without it.

Setting intention

Becoming clear of what it is you are moving towards, the life you desire will become the best reminder to keep you on track. Write down your desires, why you desire them and how they will serve your life. Set positive affirmations that repeat to you thoughts and beliefs you want to adapt, and through repetition, you will. I’ve personally found that adopting some form of intention setting into my morning routine is a perfect daily reminder of where I am going and helps me remain in alignment. It’s also great motivation. Another powerful way to set an intention is to create a vision board to look at regularly. A vision board is gathered images that illustrate the life you desire and you bring them all together to create the bigger picture, this can be done on Pinterest, canva, or good old-fashioned cut and paste onto a billboard.

Scripting

Scripting Is one of the powerful ways to set an intention that deserves its own section. Scripting is when you write like you’re writing in your diary but from the point of view that you have already received your desire. let’s say I’m manifesting a dog, I would write about already having a dog and what my life looks like with my dog. When you script it’s important to write about how things make you feel, as how they will make you feel when it actually happens. When you do this your body doesn’t know the difference, and you slowly begin to program this desire as something you believe will happen.
Everything that exists in your 3D reality is a reflection of your inner one, as within so without. So when you begin to create this belief and allow your body to feel it even before it happens, it becomes only a matter of time before how you feel and what you believe manifest into your new reality.

Raise your vibration

Raising your vibration is very important especially when you’re trying to heal. Raising your vibration can be very simple yet effective. Raising your vibration can instantly remove negative thoughts and feelings, through simply jumping around or dancing to upbeat music, really anything that makes you feel good raising your vibration and will be a game changer in your routines.

Consistency

I know you hear everyone say the key is consistency, but they can’t all be wrong! The truth is consistency is hard, especially when it’s easier to stay in bed all day. The fact of the matter also is that motivation never lasts, and although these practices get the ball rolling it’s your why that’s going to roll the ball all the way there. So long as you remain devoted to yourself and your progress, and keep patience and grace for your harder days, this is a journey after all, the best days will be just around the corner.
